What Do You Think Is The Best Diet? Low-carb, Low-fat, Portion Control, Or Any Other Diet Plan?

Also, can anyone give me a good exercise routine to follow…I want to lose 50 lbs. I’m female, 4′10 and 180lbs! I’m not healthy, and looking to change my life.
Please no one list answers telling me I’m fat and to just work out and eat less. I know that already. I would like some real information.

portion control. that way you can still eat what you want. but you should still cut back on junk food and all, and concentrate on the healthier foods like veggies and fruits. i have been losing weight by cutting my portions back. i drink water between meals to keep myself from snacking. i go on the treadmill 4-5 times a week walking/jogging. but i increase the incline when and walk and decrease it when i am jogging. good luck! :) i know you can do it.

I’m very overweight also, and depression is a major problem in my life. IF depression was controlled or not present at all–as perhaps in your life–I’d do a lap band in a heartbeat. I know that for me, it would turn my already not great depression into something unmanagable.

get a note book or a some thing to keep a record of every thing you eat…count calories and keep the carbs low and you will start to shed pounds…by keeping a diary..you improve your chances of gaining knowledge of what your doing wrong and can correct them and see improvements if your weak.

Portion control is a great place to start. Also eating enough is important as most people decide to cut calories too drastically to lose weight and this doesn’t work as the body needs calories to function. Eat 4servings of veggies(more if you can) , 3 servings of fruit, whole grains, and lean protein. Your weight loss will also be effected by any medication you are on or health issues. A good book to read is Picture Perfect Weight Loss by Dr Shapiro. Not all plans will work for everyone but the book contains some really good info. The pictures of diffrent foods for the same calorie count are really helpful.

Negative Calorie Foods

The phrase, "negative calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained in the food.
