We could sustain a whole country with just the food we throw away on a daily basis.
We sure are a bunch of fatties.

A diet and exercise plan for kids in school is fine by me. But it stops right there.

It would suck… why do you think that the government has authority to do such a thing?

well they are buying some peoples food

There’d be instant work fatigue claims filed by lazy workers unable to keep up. Probably the most highly paid of the workers, the higher the lazier.

If it works like all their other plans the U.S. will be fatter than ever.

They bottle feed you till you’re like 8, don’t let you have a drink till 21 and now they’re going to make you work out like the Japanese? What a free country!

That would be unconstitutional. The government cannot legally force people to eat a certain way, or force them to exercise.

I haven’t hear about the government implementing a diet plan and a mandatory exercises, but what a wonderful plan.
The government needs to get rid of all of the junk food and close those fast food restaurants. It should also close the businesses that produce unhealthy food.
A mandatory hour of exercises at work is good (it would be nice to get paid for exercising) but the government is not thinking about the people who are not employed.
It is a great way to turn the citizens into lean mean fighting machines.

If they will subsidize the cost of it, I think it is a great idea.

Whatever happened to free will? Our government is, piece by piece, taking away our right to think for ourselves. Have we gotten so lazy that they must implement a law to tell American citizens what to eat? What next, make a mandate on when we must sleep, breathe, etc…? I’m a grown up now and I don’t need “Big Brother” to tell me what to do. I think it’s irresponsible of the US government to find some other way to waste our tax dollars on something that is preventable with discipline and self-control.

It brings to mind images of “rotten cabbages”.

This sounds like nonsense now, but,it is exactly where the U.S. and most of Europe is heading.Stop the march toward “Big Brother” now, before it’s too late.

I would be absolutely opposed to such a plan..
No government, and especially not the Federal government, should have the authority to tell us what we can eat or when we must excercise. What I put into my body is MY business…it affects no one else, so the government should not be able to restrict my liberty by telling me what I can or can not eat.
The same goes for excercise. Forced excercise is slavery…making someone do work against their will. Even if a mandatory diet and excercise would make America healthier, I would still be against it.

I think that the new plan would be terrible! Yeah, it would be nice to have everyone healthy, but unless the government wants to buy our food for us, how about we eat what we want to eat! Boy our country isn’t so free anymore-first free speech, and now what we eat!! What a bunch of crap! We are in charge of our own bodies-if we want to eat, thats our choice-the government has bigger issues they need to worry about. How about they try to keep our large country safe-sound good?

The Government should stay out of our bedrooms and our kitchens.
